Wow.

I learned a ton about music history today. And it all started with there being nothing on TV for me to watch. I randomly flipped through the channels and saw a black and white film that somewhat intrigued me. (Hey, it had a piano in it!) Yup, Turner Classic Movies has many wonderful classics that I think more people in this younger generation should watch. They’re so much more meaningful than the average idiotic shows you see now-a-days. Okay, so there are a lot of good shows, but in my opinion, more pathetic ones. It happened to be about the life of the famous composer Robert Schumann. I won’t go into details because it’ll probably just bore you. Let’s just say that he married an extremely talented pianist named Clara (can’t spell her last name) and he became the “mentor” of Johannes Brahms. He lived a very miserable last several years of his life, suffering from some disease of the mind. (There are debates as to what it was) and after he died, Clara spent the rest of her life “interpreting” his music and showing it off to the world. He was also a friend of Franz Liszt, who is an absolutely brilliant composer. Liszt was a rival and friend of Frederic Chopin, who is probably my favorite composer. Liszt had, at one point, been instructed by Carl Czerny, who had been instructed by Ludwig van Beethoven. On a little side note, I had no idea that Rachmaninoff died in Beverly Hills, CA! All of the late classical/romantic composers I ended up reading biographies for played some work or another by Mozart. And of course, who could not be influenced by Bach? *poke*

/music rant. I have attempted to avoid using smilies in this post. I wonder if I succeeded. Of course, I didn’t last more than half an hour without using one. (points at all of the ones I made in my comments for the other entry and another 5 more I made in a recent AIM conversation). I guess I’ll call it quitting time. Quitting cold turkey is hard. lmao. (You learn extremely funky vocabulary from taking health freshman year. *laugh*)

On a side note… (regarding Rhapsody)…

My #1 priority as of now is to finish an LJ layout for *pokepoke* because she’s the greatest person ever. *throws confetti* Thank you for everything~

My second priority is my site of which I have a few things to say. When I was hosted on a free server and my site was anything but good, no one seemed to care about it, minus the few close online friends I had that were willing to affiliate. (You guys are the greatest!) I never bothered applying for affiliation because my site wasn’t ready yet, which is the same reason for me doing the same to this day. Yup. You probably don’t understand where I’m getting at, but I guess it’s funny to see people apply for affiliating when they barely have anything on their site. *shrugshrug* That’s not quite my point either.

Did you know that ever since I started Rhapsody about a year and a half ago, there have been at least another 2 other Rhapsodys to pop up on the net? “Rhapsody Designs” as they’re called. *more shrugs* What happened to originality!? Or maybe it’s me being unoriginal. (Were there other Rhapsodys before I started my site?) But I don’t want to change the name just because there are other Rhapsodys. *runs around* I’ll work alone and hope to make my site one others can constantly go to for graphics, etc.

Wow. That was a stupid rant.
