Robotics ended on Tuesday. I was at school from 9 AM Monday morning to 9 AM Tuesday morning. Then I decided to just go home since I hadn’t done any of my homework nor did I have time to study for my 2 tests. As a result, I’ve been behind this entire week, and I have quite a ways of catching up to do. -_-
Firstly, I should say that the last weekend of build season was wonderfully phenomenal. And I really did think, up until last Friday or so, that we wouldn’t have a bot at all. But we made it! Even though we didn’t really have time to get the robot fully functional program-wise and I’m not sure how useful our camera is, since it’s been blocked by the pneumatics cylinders.
Our robot’s basically capable of lifting some ~130 lb on each of its two wings through the use of air cylinders and pistons. It is also able to pick up floaties from the ground and “hang” them on the rack. We’re heavily dependent on an onboard air compressor this year. The grabbing mechanism is powered by pistons, and the only mechanical aspects of the robot powered by motors (camera servos don’t count) are our our joint and drive train.
I guess the only downside, aside from being behind on homework, is that now I’m sick. I’d say about half the team was sick last weekend. And I wasn’t. But colds are contagious, and this year, it seems to be worse than normal.
Now, maybe I can go to Little Tokyo sometime soon. Plus, I have to deal with my unresolved domain issues.
Anywho, http://team696.com <– Check out the gallery of 2007 pics. ^^b
*pokes* I missed Changmin’s birthday. Happy belated birthday Minnie~
Annd OTANJOUBI OMEDETOU KAME!
Okay, so I found out recently that a Taiwanese singer passed away in a car accident. Actually, I heard of the accident about a week or so ago, but I didn’t recognize the name. I was watching the memorial concert and started crying. For superstitious people Xu Wei Lun’s death was surrounded by very strange… circumstances? It’s creepy. And the conection with Death Note and Raito’s death. And a lot of other 1′s, 2′s, and 8′s. Nevertheless, watching Ariel Lin, Joe Cheng, her brother, and a ton of other famous Taiwanese actors/actresses sing a tribute to her… Wow. Life is too cruel, and death is just so unfair. When friends just come together like that to support her, I really wish she could have seen it. And watching her MV’s play in the background. <3
