If I ever have the opportunity to play a piano concerto, I’d love to learn that. The raw outpouring of emotion is exquisite.
I think my favorite music really does come from the late Romantic bridge to Contemporary music (or Baroque). Music from that era has more variety, but the melodies are retained. It’s extravagant, but it’s kept in check. Not too outlandish (where you you have more than 2 voices, or so it seems, and there’s no longer than definitive pattern – too many new styles going on at once), but not too tiring and dull (Classical era music is a bit on that side).
I dabble too much in different things. I love science, technology, music, art, history… and I feel rather miserable that I have to sacrifice some aspect of each to focus more on one.
Or rather, I enjoy experience and learning, but I just am not great at any particular thing. Ah, my abilities disappoint me. >_<
Antonin Dvorak – Ceska Suita (Bohemian Suite) in D minor, Op.39.
This is the first time I’ve listened to a Dvorak piece and actually recognized his work. Otherwise, it’s been mostly just knowing that there was a composer by that name.
